Bi-Rite is proud to be a leader in offering sustainable meats and fish for San Francisco. We offer a full selection of meats from providers known for their sustainable, humane techniques.

We are one of only two retailers in San Francisco to sell Marin Sun Farms beef products. Marin Sun Farms' beef comes from cattle that are fed grass for their entire lives, and are raised, slaughtered, and processed in the Bay Area. We carry their Cross Rib Roast, Ground sirloin, NY Steaks and Stew meat.

We sell 100% grass-fed Estancia Beef from Argentina and Uruguay. The cows graze on open grasslands with native grasses, so there is no clearing of rainforests or habitat. Because grass-fed beef does not rely on fossil fuels in the form of fertilizers, pesticides, and diesel (used in the planting, harvesting, processing and transportation of grains), Estancia's products have a small carbon footprint.

Five Dot Ranch has been raising natural cattle for almost 15 years. All Five Dot Ranch cows are born, raised and finished on the finest forages and best feeds (rice bran and barley, no corn) California has to offer. They use low-stress handling practices, good nutrition and holistic management practices to ensure a delicious product, which they also dry-age.

We are proud to offer Napa Valley milk-fed spring lamb,raised by Don Watson. The lambs are 2-5 months old - their flavor is delicate and the texture is very tender. Considered by San Francisco Magazine to be one of the 125 best things to eat.

We are one of few retailers to carry Becker Lane Organic Farm pork. Jude Becker raises Berkshire pigs on a farm where every step is considered a sacred art form, and the animals have lived in a natural environment with the highest standard of pig production anywhere on the planet.

We also carry several pork cuts from Heritage Foods USA. The varieties of pig are very similar to those brought to the New World by Christopher Columbus in 1493. Because they have not been hybridized (like all commercial pork), the meat is incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. The pigs are raised, slaughtered, and processed in the Midwest and sent directly to us. We are San Francisco's only retailer of Heritage pork products! At the moment, we carry Heritage Porterhouse Pork Chops.
