Bi-Rite Catering Provides The Happiest Desk Lunch
Breakfast meeting, power lunch, or happy hour? There’s a crudité platter for that.

As everyone returns to the office, you might be craving some fresh and healthy options. Did you know that Bi-Rite Catering delivers lunch? Plus breakfast and snacks, all starring local and seasonal produce just like your beloved neighborhood Market. Whatever you need to keep the team and clients happy, no matter the meeting or event — oh yes, there’s a crudité, cheese, or charcuterie platter that can handle that.
Bi-Rite Catering has been fueling the office for more than a decade, after launching a dedicated kitchen in the Bayview in 2013. The team has expanded the menu, adding more veggie, vegan, and offerings made without gluten. As well as increased the delivery range, now driving as far as San Rafael, Berkeley, and Palo Alto. They generally serve anywhere from 12 to 200 people, from nonprofits to hospitals to tech companies. Bi-Rite has even become an established caterer of Dreamforce for several years now, feeding more than 1,000 guests across several days at the biggest conference in downtown San Francisco.
“It’s really the consistency,” says longtime customer Joy Johnson from Autodesk, the design software company with modern headquarters on the Embarcadero. She started ordering Bi-Rite Catering about eight years ago, first for her own team, and now for VIP clients and C-suite executives. It costs less than wining and dining them at a restaurant, and keeps everyone focused for the afternoon. “I always order from Bi-Rite. I have my usual menus, which I can always count on. I swear, every single time … it comes on time, and I get great comments from our guests.” Everyone keeps saying, “‘Lunch was so good.’”
So whether you’re walking into a breakfast meeting, power lunch, or happy hour, wouldn’t it be more fun with a mini muffin? Here are the pro moves for what to order from Bi-Rite Catering, for any meeting or event at the office.

Breakfast meetings
The thing about a breakfast meeting is that even when they’re early, it’s an opportunity for Mini Muffins. The fan favorite item is definitely the Breakfast Burrito, sized down and stuffed with seasonal veggies. For a touch more elegance, Johnson suggests Frittata Squares layered with Yukon gold potatoes and caramelized onions or spinach and feta. The hot new item is a Bacon, Egg & Cheese sandwich, which takes that potato frittata and stacks it on an English muffin with gooey cheese.

Power lunches
To impress executives flying in from across the country, Johnson relies on crowd pleasers with fresh Cali twists. Her “safety order” is the juicy Lemongrass Marinated Chicken, pizza-inspired Margherita Focaccia, ultra fresh Mozzarella & Pepper Skewers with a bright green sauce, and “the Caesar Salad is amazing,” she confides.
Of course, the everyday bestsellers are the sandwiches, like the Achiote Chicken Sandwich Box, which takes a deli icon from the Markets and tucks in salad and fruit. Don’t miss a couple of new contenders, including zesty Lemon Pepper Salmon and cool Tofu Garlic Chili Noodles.

Happy hours
The best way to get people to actually close their laptops might be a Charcuterie Board. Johnson recommends the Meze or Crudité Platter, packed with stunning seasonal veggies for dunking into creamy hummus or green “goodness” (a vegan version of green goddess). She’d also toss in the Ancho Chile Chicken Skewers, and her personal favorite is the new Mushroom and Ricotta Focaccia cut into cute squares.

Sweet treats
For the afternoon slump, there may be no better morale booster than a mini pot de creme. Johnson highly recommends the all-time favorite chocolate flavor, which pours Guittard chocolate pudding into a super cute jar, and also comes in a vegan version. While you can’t go wrong with cookies, have you seen those little tartlets?! Johnson loves the torched lemon meringue, with one last squeeze of California citrus to end a meeting on a bright note.
While most catering clients are businesses, Bi-Rite is also honored to serve weddings, graduations, birthdays, and other celebrations. “We really take the time to make each event special,” says head of catering operations Griffin Lau. He recently overheard a teammate chatting with a nervous customer for over an hour, going over all of the details for her wedding. “We really treat the customer like family. We will go to the ends of the earth for events, because we know how important they are, and how stressful they can be.” The goal is to make the whole experience as effortless as possible, so all you have to do is take a pretty platter out of the box.
