THE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

Shanti offers help for SF-based people with terminal illnesses, life-threatening conditions, and disabilities, including in-home care, help navigating the medical systems, and emotional support. It focuses specifically on women with cancer, those with HIV or Hepatitis C, adults with disabilities, and LGBTQ seniors.

Staffing the Pet Food Bank through Shanti’s PAWS (Pets are Wonderful Support) program which offers clients a monthly allocation of cost-free pet food and pet supplies specifically tailored to their needs including special diet or prescription pet food for sick or chronically ill animals, collars and leashes, enrichment and training supplies, and pet treats.

You’ll help setup the food bank supplies and potentially engage with clients and their dogs; common duties include unboxing supplies and packing clients’ items.

What to expect
  • Volunteer coordinator will assign you specific tasks, expect to be unboxing and setting up pet food and supplies
